This principally incorporates important data centre improvements, the refresh of old end user devices, the replacement of aging server technology and the replacement of end of life network switches. This includes the human resources effort to install and commission.
The Deputy Chief Executive has given approval to incur capital expenditure of £1.1M on essential corporate ICT hardware upgrades for 2014/15. This principally incorporates the replacement of some of our aging Cisco network switches and refreshing elements of our MS Windows virtual server farm. Decommissioning the 3rd floor Civic datacentre and refreshing old end of life ‘end user’ devices. This programme involves the engagement of internal and external resources and the associated project management to implement this business critical hardware.
