Purpose:

Authorisation to go out to tender for the procurement of daily living equipment, for Adults and Children’s Services.  The Services are provided city wide and are key to people with assessed needs living at home and maintaining people’s independence.

Decision:

The Director of Adult Social Services approves the recommendation to undertake a procurement exercise to establish a framework for Assistive Technology Equipment for daily living phase ii using Contract Procurement Rule 3.1.8. Implementation discussions will take place with the suppliers once the contract is awarded. The proposed timescale for implementation is 1st May 2015. The Service Manager - Leeds Community Equipment and Tele Care Services will be the officer responsible for the implementation.

The equipment is provided following an assessment by a professional.  Various multi-disciplinary professionals from both Adults and Children’s Social Care and NHS will be involved in the tender process and will be part of the evaluation.
