Reference: D44684
Decision Maker: Chief Executive
Decision status: For Determination
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
This decision is to re-issue formal notice to
the trade unions under Section 188 of the Trade Union and Labour
Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992. This is a result of the
continued need to make savings and modernise services cross the
council. Further reductions in local government funding were
reported to Executive Board in July 2017. It is anticipated that
this will lead to further significant reductions in funding for the
Council.
This covers the requirements for statutory consultation, which
could arise if the Council were to propose to make more than 20
people redundant following the required minimum consultation period
(i.e. issuing a Section 188 Notice)
This allows for formal consultations to progress, in order that
where ever possible the need for compulsory redundancies may be
avoided
