Purpose:

Approval to waive Contract Procedure Rule 9 to award a contract for twelve months with one possible twelve month extension to four organisations to continue the current provision of community based respite services when their contract ends on 31st October 2014, in order to develop a future commissioning strategy for these services in light of the implementation of the Care Act 2014 from 2015 onwards.

Decision:

Waiver of Contract Procedure Rule (CPR) 9.1 and 9.2, using the authority in CPR 1.3 to award a contract for twelve months plus two possible six month extension to four organisations to provide Community Based Respite Services (CBRS) to carers with a combined contract value of £1,129,440 per annum.  The organisations concerned are Leeds Jewish Welfare Board, Czajka Community Care, CareUK and Allied Healthcare.
