Purpose:

Request to access the Basic Need Programme Capital Risk Fund to enhance the previously agreed budget of £5,758,179 to deal with a price increase from the pre-tender estimate to the actual tender return price. The price increase is expected to be in the region of £600k.

Decision:

The Director of Children’s Services approved an application to the Capital Risk Fund for £797,424 to enhance the previously agreed budget of £1,295,400 and note that the Chief Officer, Projects, Programmes and Procurement Unit is responsible for scheme delivery which will be completed June 2016.

If the decision has not been published in the List of Forthcoming Key Decisions for at least 28 clear days, the reason why it would be impracticable to delay the decision:: This scheme has already been on the list of Key Decisions prior to its approval in May 2015. This second application is required to financially enhance the project prior to contract award which is anticipated for 24th August 2015. Delay of the contract award will result in the project not being completed in time for pupils to access the school in September 2015.
