Decision:
Leeds City Council has provided a response
report to the Feed Leeds Deputation request (10.9.14) which
encouraged Leeds City Council to initiate the development of a new
local Food Strategy. Within the report, recommendation 3
outlined:
“In line with good practice, a baseline audit of current food
activity should be commissioned to inform the development of the
new food strategy and facilitate cross-council action. A budget of
approximately £8k is requested for this work from the Public
Health ring fenced budget. Stakeholders can then design a new food
strategy in partnership, with each having influence on decision
making and responsibility for delivering the actions
identified.”
The audit has now been commissioned and a final report is now
complete. In order to provide evidence that this recommendation has
been actioned, Public Health would like to make the document
publically available on the Leeds City Council website.
Public Health requests permission to publish the Leeds Food Audit
report on the Council website as a Significant Operational Decision
and outline the next steps following the report.
