To consider the report of the Director of City Development on changes to housing policy and practice to be applied to planning applications on and after 21^st July 2007. The changes relate to an increase in affordable housing targets and to guidelines to influence the mix of types and sizes of dwellings in new housing developments

The Director of City Development submitted a report on changes to housing policy and practice to be applied to planning applications on and after 21^st July 2008.  The changes related to an increase in affordable housing targets and to guidelines to influence the mix of types and sizes of dwellings in new housing developments.

RESOLVED –

(a)  That informal planning policy as set out in appendices 1 and 2 to the report to broaden housing mix and increase the affordable housing targets be approved.

(b)  That officers apply the changes to applications received on or after Monday 21^st July 2008.
