Exclusion of Public

To resolve that the public be excluded from the meeting under the terms of Access to Information Procedure Rule 10.4(1) and (2) and on the grounds that, in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information by reason of the need to maintain the competitive nature of the interview process and to retain information submitted by individual applicants in confidence, as disclosure could undermine the process, future appointment processes, or the outcome on this occasion to the detriment of the Council’s and public interest.

 

Minutes:

Declarations of Interest

To declare any personal / prejudicial interests for the purpose of Section 81 (3) of the Local Government Act 2000 and paragraphs 8 to 12 of the Members Code of Conduct.

Minutes:

Councillor Finnigan indicated that from the information contained in one of the anonomised  applications before the Committee he believed that the applicant was known to him and stated that this was not a close personal association and would have no prejudicial effect upon his considerations in respect of this appointment.

Appointment of the Chief Executive

a)  To receive an overview of the recruitment and selection process

b)  To long list applicants for the post

c)  To consider the short listing assessment process

 

(Application details will be provided separately to the members of the Employment Committee)

Minutes:

The Committee received an overview of the recruitment and selection process and considered 19 applications for the post of Chief Executive.

 

RESOLVED –

a)  That the six applicants now selected be progressed to the next stage of assessment.

b)  That assessments be completed in relation to the six applicants for consideration at the short-listing meeting to be held on 22nd March 2010
