The Director of Environment and Housing has
approved the request to vary, under Contracts Procedure Rule 21.5,
the contract with Leeds Federated Housing Assocation for the LEAP
service. This will reduce the number of units from 65 to 50 and
result in a contract cost of £72,644.00 per year. The LEAP
service is currently underutilised due to a reduction in referrals
from Leeds Housing Options as a result of successful homeless
prevention work and increased move on work with providers.
Consultation has taken place with LHO and the provider and it was
agreed reducing the number of units was the best option. This will
ensure continuity of service provision for the existing service
users and will allow for the service to respond to current demand
for the provision of emergency accommodation for homeless adults
and families.
