Against the background of the Council’s current financial position, to consider the injection of additional properties into the Capital receipt programme for disposal.
Decision type: Key Decision
Reason Key: Financial Impact>£500K;
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Wards affected: Various;
Notice of proposed decision first published: 05/10/2023
Reason for urgency:
This decision will need to be taken under General Exception as the key decision notice will not have been published for the clear 28 days before the meeting. In the context of the Council’s current financial position, the Council’s property portfolio is continually being reviewed to generate operational savings and capital receipts. The opportunity to progress with additional disposals has recently come to light, but due to the need to progress these for completion within the current financial year, it is essential that work proceeds as soon as possible on the marketing and disposal of the assets to ensure that the receipts are achieved by the end of March 2024. Therefore if the decision was delayed until the November meeting of Executive Board, this could result in the disposals failing to complete in the current year which would impact upon the current budget forecasts.
