Interim Contract Arrangements for Drug and Alcohol Services to 30 June 2015

To enter into interim contract arrangements with organisations providing Drug and Alcohol services for adults and children including housing support.  This approval is sought in order to maintain service provision until 1 July 2015 when the contract for the recently tendered Community Drug and Alcohol Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Service commences.  The combined cost of the interim contract arrangements will exceed £250k per annum. Budget arrangements for these contracts sit across three directorates.

Consultation will include the Drug and Alcohol Sector Review Project Board, PPPU, and finance and contract officers from the different directorates involved. 

Consultees

The Drug and Alcohol Sector Review Project Board was established to oversee the review of Drug and Alcohol service provision. Members include the Director of Public Health and representatives from Children’s Services, Adult Social Care, Police, Probation, Prisons, Strategy and Commissioning and PPPU.

These proposals are part of the ongoing work associated with the Drug and Alcohol Sector review which has resulted in the re-commissioning of the service. This follows an in-depth period of consultation with a broad range of stakeholders which included Executive Members, service providers, service users, Police, Probation, Children’s Services, Adult Social Care, Prisons, and third sector organisations.
