The Director of Children & Families is requested to authorise the expenditure of approximately £499k (initial cost estimate provided by school and subject to review, final price will be included within the content of the scheme specific DCR) to facilitate the creation of new teaching accommodation to support the placement of a ‘bulge’ cohort at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Primary School for commencement of the September 2017 academic year. This is required to fulfil the aims of the Learning Places Programme, necessary to ensure sufficient pupil places. The increase in pupil numbers will be effective from September 2017. The budget estimate quoted includes all necessary construction works to facilitate this project, professional design fees, professional surveys and any necessary decant required to facilitate a late August 2017 occupation. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Primary School has been identified as necessary to ensure sufficient pupil places are available in the for September.
