Leeds Racial Equality Council work with a range of strategic partners to challenge racial discrimination and to promote good race equality procedures and practice across the city. Partners include organisations representing black and ethnic minority communities and faith groups, Leeds City Council and Education Leeds.
We work to challenge racial intolerance through advocacy, policy development support, community development and case work representation for victims of racial discrimination.
We work with partners to campaign against social and racial inequalities and to improve the position of marginalised minorities such as Gypsies and Travellers.
We work to promote more socially cohesive communities and to challenge attempts to divide and demoralise communities by extremist organisations.
