Parish council

Situated in West Yorkshire, the villages of Barwick in Elmet & Scholes lie in a green belt area to the east of Leeds. Around 4,000 parishioners live in the two wards of Barwick in Elmet and Scholes which comprise a little over 2,000 residential properties, a small area of light industrial buildings with the remaining land used for farming.

The overriding objective of the Parish Council is to make the parish a better place for all to live in and enjoy. There are numerous ways this is being achieved and detailed plans are set out in the Parish Plan, published in 2006 and prepared in consultation with the community.
