The Parish Council is the first level of local government and aims to represent the views of people living in the Parish. It also takes responsibility for maintaining various buildings and open spaces within the two villages.
The Parish Council meets on the last Wednesday of every month (except December) at 7:30pm in the Robert Craven Memorial Hall, Old Lane. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Agendas for the meetings are displayed on the Notice boards situated around the villages. Agendas and minutes are also available on this website. In addition, the Parish Council has a number of working groups.
The Parish Council is made up of thirteen Parish Councillors - twelve representing Bramhope and one representing Carlton. The Parish Council employs a part-time clerk, a village lengthman and caretaker (summer only) for the Puritan Chapel. Details of the current Parish Councillors can be found by clicking on this link.
