Decision details

The Chief Officer (Highways and Transportation):
i) noted the principles of the highway works as outlined in Section 6.2 and shown indicatively on Drawing Numbers 7409 100 Rev C3 and TDS2018-1B;
ii) noted the principle of loading and/or waiting restrictions shown indicatively on Drawing Number TDS2018-1B which will be developed at detail design stage and which will be the subject of a further report;
iii) approved the adoption of new highway construction on land shaded red on drawing number 7409 100 Rev C3 so that it can be added to the Council’s maintenance regime;
iv) gave authority to negotiate the terms of, and enter into, an agreement with the developer under the provisions of Section 278 of the Highways Act 1980; whereby the works associated with the development are carried out by this Council at the cost of the developer;
v) gave authority to incur expenditure of £35,000 works costs and £15,000 staff costs and meet the costs of any other works resulting from the outcome of Safety Audits and consultations, all to be fully funded by a developer through a Section 278 Agreement; and
vi) gave authority to carry out the detailed design, tender and implement the works as set out in Section 6.2.
