Is Key decision?: Yes
Is subject to call in?: Yes
A decision is sought to obtain technical approval for the feasibility design for the reconfiguration of the western end of Boar Lane, and authorisation to incur expenditure to develop the detailed design and implement works on Boar Lane, funded from the West Yorkshire Plus Transport Fund grant.
The works build upon the Infirmary Street and Park Row Gateway nearing completion on site, and involve making the western end of Boar Lane two-way between City Square and Mill Hill to enable the delivery of two westbound bus stops, which are required for the long term reconfiguration of bus stops in this locality.
The Chief Officer Highways and Transportation:
i) Noted that the access agreement for the SCAPE Civil Engineering Framework was signed on the 20th March 2019 to procure design and construction services.
ii) Noted Highways Board approval to appoint Balfour Beatty to design and construct City Square on 16th June 2019.
iii) Approved the design of the proposed draft Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) on Boar Lane to allow for progression of this element of the City Square scheme.
iv) Upon drafting the orders, requested the City Solicitor to advertise the TROs as shown on drawing number MBARC_B/LCC/MIS/XX/DR/CH/000012 in Appendix C, and if no valid objections are received, to make, seal and implement the Orders as advertised.
