To consider the report of the Acting Director of City Development providing details of the public consultation exercise undertaken in respect of the Draft Interim Affordable Housing Policy and seeking agreement of the proposed amendments to the policy and its immediate implementation.

Further to Minute No. 166, 11^th February 2011, the Acting Director of City Development submitted a report providing details of the public consultation exercise undertaken in respect of the Draft Interim Affordable Housing Policy and seeking agreement of the proposed amendments to the policy and its immediate implementation.

The Board emphasised the importance of the policy being kept under review, and that it remained flexible enough to adapt to changes within the housing market.

The report provided details of the equality, diversity, cohesion and integration  screening process which had been undertaken on the proposed policy. 

RESOLVED - That the proposed amendments to the draft Interim Affordable Housing Policy as set out within appendix A to the submitted report be agreed, and that approval be given to the draft Interim Affordable Housing Policy (as amended) being implemented with effect from 1^st June 2011  (the policy would therefore apply to all relevant decisions made on or after 1^st June 2011 – this allows for the call-in period after the Executive Board meeting on 18^th May).
