Forthcoming Key Decisions

This page lists the key decisions due to be taken within Leeds City Council over the next few months. Details of each key decision will be published below at least 28 clear days before the decision is due to be taken

What is a 'Key Decision'?

A key decision is an executive decision which is likely to:

  • result in the Authority incurring expenditure or making savings over £250,000 per annum, or
  • have a significant effect on communites living or working in an area comprising one or more wards.
  • Article 13 of the Council's Constitution provides more details about which decisions will be treated as key decisions.

    How to get more information about a particular key decision

    The agenda papers for Executive Board meetings, and the documents being considered by officers taking key decisions, are available five working days before the decision will be made through the Council's website.

    The contact details of a lead officer are provided for each key decision listed below. Please contact the lead officer directly if you wish to obtain copies or extracts of any other listed documents, or if you wish to receive details of further documents as they become available. Sometimes the papers you request may contain exempt of confidential information. If this is the case, the lead officer will explain why it will not be possible to make copies available.

    15/05/2019 - The procurement of a service to provide accommodation and support for vulnerable young people, care leavers and unaccompanied asylum seeker children

    To seek authority to procure a new integrated service model to provide accommodation and support for young people, care leavers and unaccompanied asylum seeker children. The new contract will start on 1st July 2020 and be for 5 years (with potential option to extend for up to three years).

    14/05/2019 - Authorisation to approve expenditure for the Strong Families Programme totalling £3,501,200, for the maximum extended period to Sept 2022

    Authorisation is sought for the Council to extend the BBO Stronger Families programme for the maximum period to Sept 2022, and to award funds totalling approximately £3m to 18 third sector partners.

     

    The total value for the extended period is £3,501,200

    07/05/2019 - Yorkshire Cancer Research Locality Screening and Awareness Programme from April 2019

    Public Health has been successful in securing a £2,064,500 funding grant (subject to conditions set out in the award letter) from Yorkshire Cancer Research to establish a 3 year Screening & Awareness Programme in Leeds.

    07/05/2019 - Flexible Homelessness Support Grant Additional Payment

    We have been advised that we have received an additional £629k grant from the Government to be spent on preventing and relieving homelessness.  Options are being considered regarding the proposals to spend £279k of it in order to increase resources and deliver improved outcomes related to private rented lettings.
