Authority to Procure a contractor to replace heating systems in two high rise housing blocks including installation of ground source heat pumps (GSHP)

The two high rise housing blocks The Heights East and The Heights West need their existing electric space heating and hot water systems replaced.

 

This is an opportunity to pilot renewable technologies not previously used in the city.The project will involve the removal of electric storage heaters, and the installation of ground source heat pumps (GSHP) with linked installation of a new wet heating system in the flats.

 

This decision is to authorise the procurement of a contractor for these works.  Feasibility activities are currently being progressed.
