The West Yorkshire Combined Authority was created as from 1 April 2014.  The new authority is responsible for transport functions across West Yorkshire and York and economic development activities.  The cross authority economic development activities are currently managed through the Leeds City Region Joint Committee and the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership.  The staff team which supports these activites, the Regional Policy Team, is hosted by Leeds City Council and located in the Strategy and Resources directorate.  The proposal is to transfer these functions to the Combined Authority which will require Transfer of Undertakings for the activity including the finances, assets and all members of staff of the Regional Policy Team.
