LCC is currently awaiting the final announcement from the Department of Education (DfE) on the Teachers Pay Award for 18/19 subject to consultations on discretionary options in the pay settlement it is likely LCC may need to incur additional costs above the DfE’s funding provision. Initial analysis of the potential financial implications for LCC maintained schools suggests that the costs could exceed £400k. This is in addition to the 2% pay already budgeted by finance. The definitive cost to schools will not be known until the DfE make their announcement early in September and there has been consultations with Teaching TU colleagues to negotiate new Teachers Pay Policy.
The Director of Resources & Housing agreed the local teacher pay award for 2018/19 as follows:
Reason Key: Expenditure > £250,000;
Wards Affected: (All Wards);
Other reasons / organisations consulted
Consultations will be scheduled with key stakholders once the announcement is made by the DfE. Specifically this will include the Collective Agreement meetings with Teaching TU’s.
