The Chief Parks and Countryside Officer gave
authority to spend £650k to establish the Woodland Creation
Initiative across the city. This is based on the cost of £3
per tree and the delivery of the ambition to plant 50 hectares,
220,000 trees per year for 25 years planting 5.8 million trees in
total. This will require a capital investment from the
council.
