Decision:

The chief Officer (Highways and Transportation);
a) noted the contents of this report;
b) gave authority to complete the detailed design and implement the proposed ‘toucan’ pedestrian crossing and associated civils work as set out in section 3.3 and indicated on drawing TM-19-253-CON-01c at an estimated cost of £65,000;
c) gave authority to incur the expenditure of £55,000 works costs and £10,000 staff fees and legal fees, fully funded from a Developer contribution attached to planning consent 16/07380/FU;
d) gave authority for the footways and cycle tracks to be constructed under the powers contained in the provisions of Section 65(1) of the Highways Act 1980 by the side of the carriageway as shown on drawing TM-19-253-CON-01c for the joint use by pedal cyclists and pedestrians;
e) gave authority to and requested the City Solicitor to draft and advertise a Section 23 Notice (Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984) in order to inform the public of the proposed introduction of a ‘toucan’ pedestrian crossing, as shown on the drawing TM-19-253-CON-01c and respond to any communications received in this regard as appropriate; and
f) receiveed such other further reports (if needed) to address any objections received to advertised Notices or other matters arising from the detailed scheme proposals.
