Finally, this report informs Members of the options available to them when considering an application for the certification of films.

The application sought classification of films as follows:

Robb Barham, Hyde Park Picture House, was in attendance on behalf of the applicant.

Mr Barham confirmed that the use of ‘R18’ in correspondence did not refer to the category of the same name specifically used for sexually explicit films, and that ‘R’ was used as an abbreviation of ‘recommended’.

In response to a query, Members were advised that age verification checks will be in place at screenings of the above films.

RESOLVED - The committee unanimously resolved to approve the age certification of each film as sought by the applicant.
