"HAZEL'S CAFE/BISTRO" - APPLICATION FOR THE GRANT OF A PREMISES LICENCE FO THE PREMISES KNOWN AS "HAZEL'S CAFE/BISTRO" SHOP 2, 429 OTLEY ROAD, ADEL , LEEDS, LS16 6AJ pdf icon PDF 70 KB

To consider the report of the Assistant Chief Executive (Corporate Governance) setting out details of an application for the grant of a premises licence in respect of “Hazel’s Café/Bistro” Shop 2, 429 Otley Road, Adel, Leeds, LS16 6AJ.

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee took into consideration the written and verbal representations made by members of the public, the applicant and West Yorkshire Police. Members noted that following the circulation of the agenda the applicant had reached an agreement with West Yorkshire Police in relation to conditions to be added to the premises licence and that the applicant had also submitted a petition in support of the application. The documents had been circulated to the Panel prior to the hearing. The Sub-Committee resolved to grant the premises licence as requested with the clarification that the applicant had applied for facilities for the provision of dance and not for the performance of dance. The grant of the application was also subject to the incorporation of the agreements reached with the West Yorkshire Police and the measures outlined in Box P of the application being incorporated into the licence. Members noted that should there be any problems identified at the premises the option to Review the premises licence was open to interested parties and responsible authorities.

 

RESOLVED: That the application for a premises licence be granted subject to the incorporation of the agreements reached with West Yorkshire Police and the measures outlined in Box P of the application being incorporated into the premises licence.

"WOKMANIA" - APPLICATION FOR THE GRANT OF A PREMISES LICENCE FOR THE PREMISES KNOWN AS "WOKMANIA" 14 HAROLD WALK, LEEDS, LS6 1PS pdf icon PDF 72 KB

To consider the report of the Assistant Chief Executive (Corporate Governance) setting out details of an application for the grant of a premises licence in respect of “Wokmania” 14 Harold Walk, Leeds, LS6 1PS.

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee noted that the applicant was not present at the hearing and that he had received notification of the date and time of the hearing. The Sub-Committee decided to proceed with the hearing in the absence of the applicant. Members took into consideration the written and verbal representations made by members of the public, Councillor  M Hamilton, West Yorkshire Police, the Environmental Protection Team, the Development Department and the applicant in the application. Following the careful consideration of all representations the Sub-Committee resolved to refuse the application for the grant of a premises licence because the premises licence could not be operates without adverse effect on the licensing objective of preventing public nuisance.

 

RESOLVED: That the application for the grant of a premises licence be refused.

"IRELAND WOOD SOCIAL CLUB" - APPLICATION FOR THE GRANT OF A PREMISES LICENCE FOR THE PREMISES KNOWN AS "IRELAND WOOD SOCIAL CLUB" IVESON DRIVE, LAWNSWOOD, LEEDS, LS16 6NG pdf icon PDF 87 KB

To consider the report of the Assistant Chief Executive (Corporate Governance) setting out details of an application for the grant of a premises licence in respect of “Ireland Wood Social Club” Iveson Drive, Lawnswood, Leeds, Ls16 6NG.

Minutes:

Members of the Sub-Committee took into consideration the written and verbal representations made by members of the public, Councillor J Chapman, West Yorkshire Police, the Environmental Protection Team and the applicant. The Sub-Committee resolved to grant the premises licence as requested with an additional condition that telephone numbers of local taxi firms should be displayed in the premises to aid the safe dispersal of customers. The grant of the application was also subject to the incorporation of the agreements reached with the responsible authorities and the measures outlined in Box P of the application being incorporated into the premises licence. Members noted that the option to Review the premises licence was open to responsible authorities and interested parties should the premises cause any problems.

 

RESOLVED:

(a)  That the application for a premises licence be granted as requested with an additional condition that telephone numbers of local taxi firms should be displayed in the premises to aid the safe dispersal of customers.

(b)  That the agreements reached with the responsible authorities and the measures outlined in Box P of the application be incorporated into the premises licence.

"MALT SHOVEL" - APPLICATION FOR THE VARIATION OF THE PREMISES LICENCE FOR THE PREMISES KNOWN AS "MALT SHOVEL" WHITEHALL ROAD, DRIGHLINGTON, BD11 1BB pdf icon PDF 83 KB

To consider the report of the Assistant Chief Executive (Corporate Governance) setting out details of an application for the grant of a premises licence in respect of “Malt Shovel” Whitehall Road, Drighlington BD11 1BB.

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered the Licensing Officer’s report on the application and noted that the applicant and the Environmental Protection Team had reached an agreement in relation to the application. The Sub-Committee resolved to grant the variation to the premises licence as requested subject to the incorporation of the agreements reached with the Environmental Protection Team and the measures outlined in Box P of the application being incorporated into the premises licence. Members noted that the option to Review the premises licence was open to responsible authorities and interested parties should the premises cause any problems.

 

RESOLVED: That the variation to the premises licence be granted as requested subject to the incorporation of the agreements reached with the Environmental Protection Team and the measures outlined in Box P of the application being incorporated into the premises licence.
