Open
Forums - Public Participation in Remote Community Committee
Meetings
Although Community
Committee meetings are currently being held remotely due to the
restrictions introduced in response to the Coronavirus pandemic,
there are still ways in which members of the community can observe
and interact with Community Committee meetings:
To observe the
meetings, members of the public can access the live webcast of the
meeting, or watch it at a time convenient for them via the link to
the YouTube webcast stream, which can be found on each individual
committee meeting webpage (linked
here).
Or, to make contributions
towards the Committee’s ‘Open Forum’ item,
members of the public are invited to make written submissions upto
3 working days in advance of the meeting on any matter which falls
within the Committee’s terms of reference. These will be read
out under this agenda item at the meeting and considered by the
Community Committee. Each submission can be no longer than 60
seconds in duration and a maximum of 3 submissions will be heard at
each Committee meeting. To make an Open Forum submission for your
Community Committee, please contactcommunitycommitteefunding@leeds.gov.uk.
You will be contacted if your submission is to be
heard.
Community Committees hold at
least four public meetings a year, where ward councillors make
decisions about services and priorities for the local
area.
Community Committees also host
a series of workshops which consider issues that concern you and
explore how you can influence decisions on things such as
environmental improvements, community safety, health and wellbeing
and employment.
Areas covered Inner North East
Community Committee are:
- Chapel
Allerton
- Moortown
- Roundhay
The committee also allocates
funding every year to both community projects and youth activities.
Small grants of up to £500 and large grants over £500
are available.
