The Chief Officer (Highways and
Transportation):
i) approved the advertisement of an Experimental Traffic Regulation
Order to implement “No Waiting At Any Time”
restrictions (double yellow lines) on various junctions and lengths
of road across the city to remove indiscriminate and obstructive
parking and improve access and passage for waste collection
vehicles;
ii) at the end of the experimental period and in the event that no
valid objections have been received, agreed to approve making the
experimental Orders permanent;
iii) gave authority to incur expenditure of £25,000, which
comprises of £20,000 works costs, & £5,000 staff
fees including legal fees, all to be funded within the existing
Waste Management Service budget;
iv) requested the City Solicitor to:
i) advertise a draft Traffic Regulation Order for an experimental
order to implement “No Waiting At Any Time”
restrictions (double yellow lines) on various junctions and lengths
of road across the city, and
ii) at the end of the 18 month experimental period and in the event
that no valid objections have been received give appropriate
consideration to making the Order permanent incorporating any
modifications considered appropriate following the monitoring of
the measures.
