To invoke the absence provisions of the City Solicitor’s Sub-delegationScheme in repect of Executive Function - Specific Delegation “The authorisation of Council officers to conduct legal matters in court”
(ii)To delegate the function outlined in (i) above to Head of Legal Services
Reasons for the decision:
Pursuant to Part 3 3E(e) of the Constitution the City Solicitor has delegated authority to authorise Council Officers to conduct legal matters in court. The City Solicitor Sub delegation Scheme confirms as at Specific Delegations - Art 1(b)(iii) that this function is not sub delegated, unless the absence provisions of that Scheme of Delegation apply. The City Solicitor has confirmed in writing she will will be absent from the office for an unspecified period.
