The report will set out the work that has been completed under the five year CRSTS package in years 1 and 2 and the remaining projects that will form the rest of the five year programme. The proposals detail the full allocation of the £8.6m, with some slight over programming included to ensure CRSTS Casualty Prevention Programme allocation is fully spent from the five year CRSTS. The projects contained in this programme have been developed through a number of studies.
These include the major Sites for Concern and Lengths for Concern, which have been produced annually since 1990 and have led to the design and delivery of the most successful road safety projects to date. The report summarises the annual Pedestrian Crossing Review which has informed the list of new crossings/upgrades. In addition it covers elements aligned to wider road safety initiatives such as safety cameras, education and speed limit requirements.
