Capital funding of £3m in total was identified in 2010 for the purchase of telecare equipment. The first million was released in April 2010 and the second million was released in April 2012.
The release of the final million pounds for the purchase of Telecare equipment is now required. The Tele Care Services are provided city wide and are key to people with assessed needs living at home and maintaining people’s independence.
The service contributes to the Council Business plan 2015 to 2020, Adult Social Care Directorate Priorities and Performance Measures by making Leeds the best place to grow old and delivering the better lives programme and the service supports adults whose circumstances make them vulnerable to live safe and independent lives.
The annual expenditure on Tele Care equipment is around £300,000.
