In March 2001 the then Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Bernard Atha, launched the Council of the Forum. The Council that leads the Forum is made up of Link People from eight Faith Communities: Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh.
The setting up of the forum marked a new step forward in the City and is good news for all those working for good community relations across the City.
The forum will sponsor dialogue that leads to action by individual faith communities and collective action across faiths. We have a special concern for activity and policy development that addresses social exclusion and religious discrimination.
