Rawdon Schools Trust: The John Emmott and Francis Layton Endowment

Description

The Rawdon Schools Trust

The historic educational charities, set up by the Layton and Emmott families in the 17th, 18th and 20th centuries respectively, to provide support for educational advancement for Rawdon’s young people have been merged to form “The Rawdon Schools Trust: The John Emmott and Francis Layton Endowments”, which is registered with the Charity Commission, No 529297.

Annually, the trustees seek applications from “low-income families” who are eligible for financial help to access educational opportunities.  Grants are awarded for items such as study and revision books, technology to enable on-line learning, educational visits or extra-curricular activities.
