To receive and consider the attached report of the Head of Licensing and Registration regarding an application for the grant of a premises licence for the Mill Kitchen, 1 The Old Combing, Sunnybank Mills, Farsley, Pudsey, LS28 5UJ.

Minutes:

The report of the Head of Licensing and Registration presented an application for the grant of a premises licence for The Mill Kitchen, 1 The Old Combing, Sunnybank Mills, Farsley, Pudsey.

 

The application applied for was for the following:

 

Recorded Music and Sale by Retail of Alcohol

 

Monday to Friday 08:00 to 23:00

Saturday and Sunday 10:00 to 23:00

 

Opening Hours of the Premises

 

Monday to Friday 08:00 to 23:00

Saturday and Sunday 10:00 to 23:00

 

It was reported that representations made by Planning had been settled prior to the hearing.

 

The applicant addressed the sub-committee and highlighted the following:

 

·  The premises were family friendly with a focus on providing food.

·  It was proposed to sell locally produced beers and high quality wines with food.

·  Further to concerns that the premises would be a drinking establishment it had been agreed with planning that it was a food led business.

·  There had not been any concern that the grant of a license would lead to noise and disturbance.  There had not been any representations from Environmental Health or West Yorkshire Police.

·  The hours applied for were consistent with other premises in the area.

 

 

In response to Members comments and questions, the following was discussed:

 

·  The nearest residential area was 200 metres away.

·  Drinks would not be served without food.

·  It was only proposed to remain open till 1800 on a weekday and 1600 on a weekend.  The extra hours on the licence would be to prevent having to re-apply for instances when it was required to keep the premises open later.

 

The Sub-committee went into private session to consider the information presented in the report and presented at the meeting including the lack of representation from responsible authorities.

 

RESOLVED – That the application be granted as follows:

 

Recorded Music and Sale by Retail of Alcohol

 

Monday to Friday 08:00 to 23:00

Saturday and Sunday 10:00 to 23:00
