The Deputy Chief Executive has approved In
July 2014, the government announced the 'Growth Deal' for Leeds
City Region — that is, the allocation of funding for local
projects and programmes supporting the creation of jobs and the
acceleration of growth. Funding begins in April 2015, and,
including support for the West Yorkshire plus Transport Fund, the
LEP has secured over £70m for the coming financial year and
£573m overall for the period to 2020-21. As part of the
preparation for delivery, the LEP team needs to develop project
management, monitoring and evaluation arrangements, as well as
assist with further project development and appraisal for the
capital projects that have been successful in attracting support.
The current staffing resources available to the team are
insufficient to carry out the necessary work. This decision

resources and skills to ensure the work can be completed
quickly and to a high enough standard.

The Director of Resources is recommended to extend the award of the contract for the design, installation and supply of office based furniture to Flexiform Business Furniture Ltd
Extend the contract with Flexiform for a 12 month period from 1st October 2014 in line with the original contract award in 2012.
The current contract with Flexiform, ref LCC27176, for Corporate Furniture is due to expire 30th September 2014 with the option to extend for 2 x 12 month period.
It is recommended that the contract with Flexiform is extended for a period of 12 months from 1st October 2014 to 30th September 2015.
The purpose of the report is to seek approval to extend the contract with Flexiform for the provision of Corporate Furniture for a 12 month period.
Should this contract not be extended for 12 months there is the risk that there would be no contract in place from October 2014 and the significant work undertaken on standardising office furniture would be wasted as purchases would be made from a variety of sources and would not meet the objective of having standard office furniture when the move to Merrion House takes place in 2017.
