The Director of Adults and Health will be recommended to approve the Covid-related payment to Older People’s Care Homes: Low Occupancy Support Scheme in the city. Support is being provided in terms of a payment for vacant beds in a care home up to a level of 85% of available capacity in that home, where occupancy levels have fallen below this figure during the pandemic. Funding under the scheme will be available for the months of April, May and June 2021.
Due to the nature of the proposal a firm financial cost cannot be accurately determined, however it has been estimated/calculated at a cost of £2.3m.
Costs to this sum will be met from within existing A&H resources.
The Director of Adults and Health approved the funding for the Low Occupancy Support Scheme for a period of three months from April 2021 to June 2021 at a maximum estimated cost of £2.232m.
The Head of Commissioning and Head of Finance in Adults and Health will .process the payments to the older people’s care home providers.
