11/04/2019 - Request to waive Contract Procedure Rules 9.1 and 9.2 to enter into a 6-month contract with the option to extend for a further 6-months with Methodist Homes Association for extra care at Yew Tree Court and Rosewood Court

The Director of Adults and Health approved the waiver of CPRs 9.1 (requirement of competition) and 9.2 (invitation of a minimum of four written tenders), using the authority set out in CPR 1.3, to award a 6-month contract with the option to extend for a further 6-months to MHA for extra care services at Yew Tree Court and Rosewood Court. This contract is to commence 1st April 2019. A request to utilise the available 6-month extension will be subject to a separate decision.

The Director of Adults and Health approved an increase to the contract value resulting in a contract value of £228,208 for the 6-month period. This represents an increase of £22,500 (10.9%) for the 6-month period.

The Director of Adults and Health approved the continued use of the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a notice under Regulation 32 of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 with the goal of establishing a long-term contract with the existing provider. The outcome of these negotiations and the recommendation to award a long-term contract will be subject to a separate significant operational decision.
